To maintain your teeth and keep them as healthy and attractive as possible, early detection and treatment of cavities in your teeth is essential. DIAGNOdent is an advanced technology that we offer in our office that aids us in the early detection of cavities. Even the smallest of lesions, difficult (or impossible!) to see with the naked eye, are detected at the earliest stage. This enables us to take action right away, to protect and preserve the maximum amount of tooth substance. The DIAGNOdent uses a harmless laser beam to scan the tooth to search for fluorescence under the enamel surface.  Too much fluorescence means a cavity, and we have never seen the DIAGNOdent give a false reading!
